Innopolis City in Russia’s Republic of Tatarstan will host a fintech and blockchain hackathon on September 17-18 sponsored by InspiRussia, a subsidiary of the Life.SREDA venture capital firm.
Blockchain Hackathon Coming to Innopolis, Russia
The InspiRussia hackathon will gather professionals and enthusiasts together this month to discuss fintech and blockchain ideas, as well as develop working prototypes. Teams will create projects within the given time frames and compete against other models built at the event. Attendees will be given tools to produce prototypes from the sponsors.
Big Name Support
Sponsors include Microsoft, IBM, Qiwi, Life.SREDA, Fidor, and Accenture among many others. The official winner of the two-day event will receive placement within the organization’s sister accelerator program InspirAsia in Singapore. Winners will also be given access to Microsoft Azure protocol, SDK, and API platforms working with blockchain prototypes. The teams will additionally be subscribed to the Microsoft BizSpark services.
Admission to the event will be free, and voting for the winner will be performed over blockchain technology resources. Expert judges will assess the working protocols designed by teams and verify the project’s code. InspiRussia is the first such accelerator program in Russia following the success of InspirAsia. The Hackathon website states:
This interdisciplinary venue is open-ended and supposed to bring together engineers, business students, designers, creators and entrepreneurs. With a focus on financial technologies and support from Microsoft, IBM, Life.SREDA and industry professionals, it’s your turn to produce creative solutions. All hackathon participants get free admission and are strongly encouraged to attend.
Teams will be guided and mentored by Life.SREDA VC experts including Chris Skinner, Vladislav Solodkiy, David M. Brear, Thomas Labenbacher, and Matthias Kröner.
InspiRussia says it will encourage projects to plug into their banking partners platform and run the proof-of-concept trials and plans on bolstering many new technologies including blockchain, big data, insurtech, security, artificial intelligence, and e-commerce solutions.
InspiRussia and Innopolis City look forward to the event and hope it produces an assortment of innovative prototypes and real-world use cases.
