Editor Notes : “What do you get when you combine a Tesla with an arrow head? Nissan’s BladeGlider electric vehicle. The car boasts a near-silent electric powertrain and aerodynamic shape.”

In development for the past two years, the Japanese auto maker’s futuristic three-seat electric sports car—based on concept cars first shown at the Tokyo Auto Show in 2013—is ready to hit to road.
With a top speed of 190 km/h (115 mph), the car “glides,” Nissan said, “thanks to the near-silent performance of its electric powertrain and aerodynamic shape” and can accelerate from zero to 100km/h (62 mph) in less than five seconds.
It boasts a narrow front and wider rear for “optimum aerodynamic efficiency and handling stability,” and comes with just one seat up front for the driver, with room for two in the back.
Other features include “rear-hinged dihedral doors,” an open roof that’s reinforced with an “integrated roll-over protection structure” (just in case), and a five-module lithium-ion 220kW battery for power. Inside the cabin, there’s a central display showing speed and how much juice you’ve got; on either side are two screens showing images from rear-view cameras mounted behind the front wheels.
“Nissan believes that enthusiasts should look forward to a zero-emission future and Nissan BladeGlider is a perfect demonstration of that,” company president and CEO Carlos Ghosn said in a statement. “It’s the electric vehicle for car lovers.”
