CFTC Chief Says FTX Plan Could Make Crypto Markets 'More Efficient'

CFTC Chair Rostin Behnam told House lawmakers Thursday his agency was giving a FTX.US proposal on directly clearing customers’ derivatives trades serious consideration. He suggested the FTX idea could improve market efficiency, though he said he didn’t yet support the proposal. Behnam repeatedly said the CFTC must support “responsible innovation.”
