Key Takeaways
- Bitcoin ETFs lost $65.40M on Monday, all from Blackrock’s IBIT.
- Ether hit 10 straight outflow sessions, while solana, zcash, and HYPE also stayed under pressure.
- This week will test if bitcoin ETF demand broadens again as NEAR keeps attracting inflows.
Bitcoin ETFs Lose $65M as Ether Outflows Hit 10 Days
The new week began much as the last one ended: with institutional investors still trimming exposure to major digital assets.
Bitcoin exchange-traded funds (ETFs) recorded $65.40 million in net outflows on Monday, with the entire withdrawal coming from Blackrock’s IBIT. Every other fund was flat.
That concentration is notable.
Last week’s $681 million bitcoin ETF outflow was spread across several major issuers, led by Fidelity and Ark & 21Shares. Monday’s selling was narrower, suggesting the market may be moving from broad de-risking toward more selective portfolio adjustments.
Trading value reached $1.23 billion, while net assets closed at $106.06 billion. For investors watching bitcoin’s price, the flow data remains cautious. The selling has eased from last week’s peak, though sustained institutional accumulation has yet to return.
Ether Remains the Clearest Weak Spot
Ether ETFs lost another $85.40 million, extending their outflow streak to 10 trading days.
Blackrock’s ETHA accounted for $75.07 million of the decline, while Grayscale’s Ether Mini Trust shed $10.33 million. Trading activity totaled $634 million, with net assets ending at $15.86 billion.
The persistence is becoming increasingly significant. Ether ETFs lost roughly $542 million last week, their heaviest weekly withdrawal since January, and Monday offered no sign of a reversal.
That makes ether the clearest example of sustained institutional de-risking across the current crypto ETF market. The concentration in ETHA also mirrors Monday’s bitcoin pattern. Selling is increasingly being expressed through the largest, most liquid vehicles.
Solana’s Losing Streak Extends
Solana ETFs slipped by another $699,830, entirely through Vaneck’s VSOL. The category has now posted six consecutive sessions of outflows, following the end of its 14-week inflow streak last week. Net assets fell to $1.72 billion.
Solana had previously been one of the most resilient destinations for higher-beta institutional capital. A sixth straight negative session suggests that risk appetite further down the digital-asset curve has yet to recover.
HYPE ETFs also lost $2.35 million through Bitwise’s BHYP, while Zcash ETFs shed $1.66 million from Grayscale’s ZCSH. XRP ETFs recorded no net flows.
NEAR Continues to Move Against the Market
NEAR remains the unusual exception.
Bitwise’s NRR attracted another $3.98 million, lifting net assets to $81.67 million. The fund has continued drawing capital through several sessions when larger crypto ETF categories were losing money.
That resilience may reflect fresh-product demand and investors looking for more targeted exposure while reducing positions elsewhere.
Monday’s data therefore points to a market still working through last week’s de-risking cycle. Bitcoin selling has narrowed, which could be an early sign of stabilization. Ether and solana remain more persistent concerns.
The next signal will come from whether bitcoin ETF demand broadens again. Until then, institutional positioning looks defensive, selective, and increasingly concentrated.
